Twice of something, half of nothing

Versatility is a nuisance. I prefer to be good at very few things, rather than adequate at an abundance. Unfortunately, it doesn’t appear that I have the willpower, nor the determination to see “the very few” through.

Maybe it’s a product of my character. Six of one, half a dozen of the other. That phrase always makes it easier to describe being useless at both without being ashamed of either.

Who wants to be a half?

I’d rather be too much of a whole. Twice of something, rather than half of nothing. Zero may not be divided as per the universal laws of mathematics. But we can power and square to the infinity.

There is always room for more. Always.

It just requires the right mindset. There is an expectation that if you do not fulfil the stereotype that you are given at birth (unbeknownst to you of course) there is either tragedy or triumph. We either die under the weight of society’s pressure, or we learn to carry and lighten it.

All of that is designed to make life and living a struggle. We know it to be one from a young age. But miraculously, we innately find joy in the detail. The small things. Imagination, in the mind of child, is twice, thrice of something. It’s more.

I’ve taken the opportunity to change my thinking. To think not as two halves, but as two wholes. Two innately beautiful beings in one body.

We don’t not have to share and tussle in the finite.

Rather, let’s bask innocently in the infinite.
